Don Hall, 69, of San Destin, FL, formerly of Memphis, TN and Fair hope, AL died January 2, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Hall was born in Jackson, MS on October 25, 1940 and raised in Fairhope, AL. He married his high school sweetheart, Julianne Fortenberry Hall in 1959 and recently they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They moved to Memphis in 1972 where he started Southern Wire Corporation and invested in several other businesses in the Memphis and surrounding areas. He retired to San Destin, FL in 2007. Mr. Hall was a loving and devoted father to his three children and derived much of his greatest joy from his five grandchildren. He supported the Child Advocacy Center of Memphis and volunteered with The Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Hall was also an avid golfer and hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace R. Hall and Anna Riley Haas. He is survived by his wife, Julianne, his three children: Anthony Allan (Candy) Hall of Bartlett, TN, Angela Hall Wolf of Memphis, TN, Andrew Riley (Kiki) Hall of Germantown, TN; five grandchildren: Riley, Lauren, Anne Marie, Gracie and Ryan; two sisters: Trisha DuJuor (Bill Cinque) of Tarzana, CA and Nancy (James) Dennis of Fairhope, AL and a brother Charlie (Isle) Hall of Mandeville, LA; a step-father, W.O.Haas of Fairhope, AL and a sister-in-law, Claudia (Jim) Barrett of Gainesville, F ; three nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Church of the Resurrection in Miramar Beach, FL at 11:00 a.m. McLaughlin Mortuary in Ft. Walton Beach, FL is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations please be sent to M.D. Anderson in Houston, TX or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN so that they may continue their vital research in the fight against cancer.
