Norwegian power grid operator Statnett has taken delivery of a six tonne Unic URW-706 spider crane from Unic distributor Knutsen Maskin.
The spider crane will be used for various lifting tasks around the Kristiansand substation, located on the south coast of Norway, as part of Statnett’s project to improve the country’s power grid. The company said the crane’s working area limitation function makes it ideal for lifting operations in restricted zones such as substations where safe working parameters need to be set.
Based in Jessheim, near Oslo, Knutsen Maskin was formed in 1947 and has a long tradition of equipment sales, spare parts and repair services. The distribution of Unic mini cranes in the Norwegian market is overseen by managing director Thor Nordahl.
