The Ulven Companies are pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Swanson as the Plant Manager of Wolf Steel Foundry. In this new position at TUC, Michael will be responsible for overall supervision in all departments of the foundry operations, scheduling of production, documenting quality standards, ensuring safety of manufacturing and continuous improvements utilizing LEAN manufacturing methodologies.
Tammy Sievers, Director of Human Resources at Ulven said, “Over the last few months we had embarked on a nationwide search for viable candidates, but Mike stood out from the group. We are very pleased to have found someone with his unique experience to help facilitate the growth of the Wolf business.” Michael will be a key contributor in accelerating the implementation of LEAN manufacturing and the continuous improvement of the plant. His focus will be to increase plant productivity, quality and responsiveness.
Michael received his Associates of Applied Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Oregon Polytechnic Institute and has a Certificate in Welding Technology from Mt. Hood Community College. His experience includes leadership roles at Precision Cast Parts Corporation, ESCO Corporation, and Johnson Controls. He has been involved in manufacturing organizations since the 1980′s and is a seasoned, experienced Manufacturing/Process Engineer. Michael has a background in process line layout, set-up and commissioning, manufacturing plant startup and equipment specification and purchasing.
