The J D NEUHAUS Community ‘Engineered for Extremes’

jdn84-A-300dpiThe J D Neuhaus website, jdngroup.com has been subject to major revamps which include a more prominent presentation of products in the homepage menu. Their impressive product range incorporates purpose designed handling equipment which is ‘engineered for extremes’ and used for applications in some of the heaviest and most demanding engineering markets. Details of their worldwide subsidiaries are supported with the site available in seven different languages.

The new site will feature an enlarged view at standard resolution with zoom effects available and a re-launch of the typography and picture sizes is also incorporated together with a footer with menu repetition. For easier navigation, the menu level structure has been reduced from 3 to 2 and an optimized version for mobile phones will also be available.

Of growing interest is their JDN Community, an interactive site platform for exchanges of views between professionals who specify, provide or have full hands-on experience of JDN products in the field. Reports are encouraged for all exciting, unusual and general run-of-the-mill experiences with JDN products to stimulate interaction, generating questions and answers which can be discussed with experts in their fields. Some current articles on site include:

– Two JDN monorail hoists being used at temperatures of -15°C at a Russian oilfield location
– JDN products used to change derrick cabin on an offshore platform
– A J D Neuhaus overhead crane used in a corrosive and potentially explosive environment
– JDN pneumatic chain hoist used in the explosion hazard environment of a spray painting booth
– JDN chain hoists used in the removal of propellers from a 950ft navy ship

The company recently ran a competition with all those who had posted a story on the JDN Community site being entered into a draw to win a winter adventure holiday. The five lucky winners would travel via Oslo towards the Norwegian-Swedish border, experiencing a winter adventure in an unspoiled landscape with their Alaskan huskies. The schedule involved travelling more than a hundred kilometers by dog sleigh, visiting on the way Sweden’s highest waterfall and also meeting the king of the forests, the elk.

The site also details the shooting of a new J D Neuhaus corporate film showing their products being utilized in numerous locations across the globe in some of the toughest environments. The completed film will be available shortly.

With a range of air and hydraulically operated hoists and cranes offering lift capacities from 250kg up to 100 tons and beyond, visitors to their Facebook site will also be kept up to date with the latest developments and innovations. The products are supplied for use in the toughest environments, including appropriate Ex ratings for operation within potentially explosive atmospheres. Standard ratings include 100% duty operation with minimal maintenance even when operating on maximum duty cycle performance, in conditions of high humidity, dust and temperatures from -20°C to +70°C. Highly specialized operating conditions can also be accommodated, with hoists suitable for underwater operation at 70 meters depth, or where performance is required at arctic temperatures down to -45°C.
