Texas Power Systems and Caterpillar recently celebrated the production of the 25,000th Cat engine at the Seguin engine facility.
In 2009, Caterpillar announced the construction of a state-of-the art assembly and manufacturing facility in Seguin, TX. The plant is a consolidation of Caterpillar’s engine assembly, testing and painting operations. Texas Power Systems (TPS) builds the C9, C11, C13, C15, and C18 Cat engines.
Larry Bosley, Vice President and General Manager of Texas Power Systems says he is proud of the facility especially after the first engine came off the ine in June 2010.
“Texas Power Systems is proud to produce such a great product for Caterpillar. Having built 25,000 engines in just a year demonstrates the capability of our Seguin workforce,” said Bosley.
Plant officials say the Seguin TPS facility has allowed the company to optimize efficiency by improving process capability, flexibility and flow of its operations.
Also celebrating is Caterpillar manager Alex Perez-Sandi. Perez-Sandi says its a milestone worth celebrating.
We have been really impressed with Texas Power System’s ability to meet our production requirements in such a short period of time. The quality from Seguin has been excellent,” said Perez-Sandi.
