Texas Gov. Rick Perry has established a group that will be tasked to improve safety in drilling and production projects in the aftermath of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The Gulf Project will concentrate on developing equipment and technologies for future drilling, as well as improving spill-response training. “Texas must take the lead in this effort because Texas leads in energy,” Perry said.
