Talurit Group, a global leader in mechanical splicing and wire rope handling solutions, is proud to unveil the Talurit® LKA 30 GC Automatic Cutting Machine — a groundbreaking innovation set to transform the cutting process for combination wire ropes. Developed with playground netting production in mind, this fully automated solution delivers exceptional cutting quality, minimizes material waste, and integrates seamlessly into modern manufacturing workflows. By setting new benchmarks for efficiency, precision, and ease of use, the Talurit® LKA 30 GC underscores Talurit Group’s commitment to driving technological advancement.
The Talurit® LKA 30 GC is the world’s first automatic cutting machine for combination wire rope. This type of rope construction consists of steel wire strands covered by plastic or synthetic fibers to create a strong, flexible, and comfortable-to-grip solution widely used in playground structures and other architectural applications.
The machine incorporates feed-measure-mark-cut automation, minimizing manual handling while optimizing productivity. Designed to enhance efficiency, the system reduces labor costs and improves process consistency, all while consuming only 1 kW of power. Thanks to its compact footprint (1530×720×1850 mm) and lightweight design (350 kg) it can seamlessly be integrated into existing production setups without sacrificing valuable floor space.
At the heart of the LKA 30 GC is a cleverly engineered data system that combines advanced functionality with user-friendly operation, accessed through a 10-inch touchscreen interface. Despite offering sophisticated features — such as automated work orders, calibration, and integrated marking — it remains intuitive enough for operators of all skill levels. Equipped with a diamond-plated cutting blade, the machine not only delivers straight, precise cuts but also melts the plastic coating at the rope ends to prevent fraying.
Jonas Werner, Mechatronics Engineer at Talurit Group, comments: “Through rigorous testing and a host of engineering breakthroughs we are proud to launch the LKA 30 GC as the first automatic cutting machine for combination ropes. The level of customization and scalability is what truly sets it apart, allowing manufacturers to adapt quickly as production needs evolve.“
To further support precision and efficiency, the machine features an integrated marking unit, applying accurate markings for cross joints and fittings directly during the cutting process. This function enhances assembly precision and significantly reduces the risk of human error. The marking setup can be customized using Excel-based work orders, which can be imported easily via USB, creating better flexibility in production planning.
With the calibration functionality, operators can save specific settings for different rope types, ensuring consistent accuracy and repeatability for every cut. This level of customization is particularly valuable for manufacturers handling many types and sizes of combination rope, as it enables seamless adjustments without compromising efficiency.
Victor Lindh, CEO of Talurit Group, comments: “By blending modern technology with user-centric design, we’ve developed a solution that truly raises both efficiency and safety. Early customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. What impresses most seems to be how quickly the LKA 30 GC starts delivering value. It’s plug-and-play design and user-friendly interface mean that operators can be fully trained in a short time, leading to immediate boosts in output and accuracy.”
With the launch of the LKA 30 GC, Talurit Group continues its long tradition of innovation, setting a new standard in automated combination rope cutting. By combining proven cutting technology, automation, and intelligent process control, this cutting-edge machine provides manufacturers with a cost-effective, precise, and future-ready solution.
