Seattle – The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded accreditation status to Spider, a division of SafeWorks, LLC. IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time.
“Spider is proud of our education programs which train hundreds of contractors each year in important suspended scaffold operation and fall protection skills, equipping them with the highest safety standards and helping them maintain OSHA compliance,” stated John Purtle, Spider’s National Training Manager. “Our partnership with IACET is a demonstration of our commitment to lifelong learning and high standards for all of our programs, and we are very pleased to join such a prestigious organization as well as an elite group of organizations that offer excellent continuing education and training programs.”
“We are pleased to announce our relationship with Spider as an Authorized Provider,” stated Sandra L. Williams, PhD, president of IACET and assistant professor and consultant at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, IL. “Spider joins nearly 500 organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education to ensure the highest possible standards are met.”
Spider offers a variety of training courses throughout its 24 North American operation centers. The hands-on training in rigging, inspection, fall protection, and swing stage operation and rescue helps improve worker safety awareness, control accident-related costs, and maintains OSHA compliance.
Training options include:
- Competent Person Training – Commercial and Industrial
- New York City Department of Buildings Approved 16-Hour Suspended Scaffold Safety Class
- New York City Rigging Foreman Course
In order to achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, Spider completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2013 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. Spider has pledged its continued compliance with the Standard, and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Authorized Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, Spider is now linked to the IACET web site and is recognized as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs.
