Southern Wire, a division of Houston Wire & Cable Company, is celebrating 40 years in business by taking a look back at its recent accomplishments, and looking ahead to continued success with a slew of operational enhancements, including a new hire.
“Our team has grown from a two-location organization with a little over a 100,000 square feet to enjoying the resources of eight nationwide locations with over 500,000 square feetof space,” notes Christian Sokoll, president of Southern Wire. “Our inventory and customer service programs have increased at a parallel rate.”
To support its continued growth, Southern Wire has added outside sales resources, upgraded its ERP system, installed a nationwide VOIP phone network, started 24/7/365 call center capability, re-engineered our flagship distribution center in Olive Branch, added marketing resources, and increased operational effectiveness throughout the organization.
Southern Wire has also expanded its management and inside sales staff, including the recent addition of Logan Ragland to its corporate inside sales team. Ragland will be responsible for the development and cultivation of new customers, as well as offering his customer service expertise to the company’s existing accounts. Ragland graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, and a concentration in agricultural engineering. His background in farm management and sales brings unique knowledge and skill to his new role.
