Antwerp rental company opts for the new-generation lift trucks from Terex Port Solutions
The Antwerp lift truck rental company Cuypers Vorkliften NV (Cuypers) has ordered another six Terex® Liftace™ 5-31 reach stackers from Terex Port Solutions (TPS). In June and July this year, the machines will be delivered to Belgium, where they will work together with a Liftace 5-31 reach stacker that has already been in operation there since April 2015. At the time, this was the world’s first reach stacker of the new-generation lift trucks from TPS.
First Liftace reach stacker impresses Cuypers
Cuypers’ decision to purchase six more Liftace 5-31 reach stackers is the result of the positive experience with the first machine. Lieven Van Hoylandt, Managing Director Cuypers: “Vehicles like ours, which are used in the rental business, must be particularly robust and reliable. It is precisely these characteristics that have impressed us with the Liftace 5-31 reach stacker over the past few months. It helps our customer to work even more quickly and cost-effectively.”
In use in terminals in Europe and North America
A year after the market launch, Liftace reach stackers are already in use in many terminals in Europe and North America. The technologically mature and easily maneuverable machines of a compact design offer customers demand-driven competitive advantages. Giuseppe Di Lisa, Vice President Sales & Service EMEAR at Terex Port Solutions: “The Liftace reach stackers combine competitive operating costs with ease of maintenance and convenience at the man/machine interface. This efficient overall package has been well-received on the market.”
New generation of lift trucks is continuously growing
The Terex Liftace 5-31 reach stacker offers a maximum load capacity of 45 t in the first container row (second row: 31 t, third row: 15 t), travel speeds up to 25 km/h and a maximum lifting speed of 0.45 m/s. Its market launch in spring 2015 was the debut of the new generation of lift trucks from TPS, which has since been successively expanded. The first reach stackers were followed in early summer 2015 by Terex Stackace™ empty container handlers. In April this year, TPS launched the Liftace 5-36 reach stacker. This has a load capacity of 36 t in the second row and 18 t in the third.
