Gantry crane manufacturer Shuttlelift invited dealers to the official unveiling of its new SB series last month (July).
The new line encompasses single beam, rubber-tired gantry cranes. The launch gave attendees the chance to see a new 70 ton SB crane in action.
As components are getting longer, tandem picks are becoming more common, and plant managers are looking for more cost effective business practices, said Shuttlelift.
Director of industrial sales, Kurt Minten, said the SB series is well matched to industry demands. “The SB cranes are designed for high duty cycle and will help to increase productivity, and you’ll benefit from a much tighter turning radius and increased maneuverability when tandem picking,” he said.
Shuttlelift claimed that the SB will cut costs as companies will spend about 35% less for two SB cranes than they typically would for a single 100 ton gantry with spreader bar.
