The 2016 Annual Conference of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA), April 26-30, at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Orlando, FL, will feature educational sessions, networking events and committee meetings. The Annual Conference is expected to bring together more than 750 of the industry’s top managers and leaders from around the world.
Among the anticipated highlights are the Products Fair with 90 exhibitors; Trail King and Link-Belt Breakfasts; the Rigging and Hauling Jobs of the Year Competitions; the Annual Awards and Recognition Dinner; the SC&R Foundation’s “Shake, Rattle & Roll” Gala; Golf and Tennis Tournaments, the CCO 5k Fun Run/Walk events; the President’s Reception; the Acoustic Alchemy Guitar Reception and special receptions for international members, first-time attendees and spouses.

No One Can Stop You but You – Hear how personal accountability in the workplace can inspire employees to work as a team and achieve their highest level of performance from Walter Bond. His eight-year NBA career as a shooting guard for the Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons taught him many of the peak-performance truths that he has emphasized during a successful international speaking career spanning nearly two decades.
Health Insurance and Medical Risk Management:Bleeding Edge Solutions for Controlling Medical Costs – Attendees at this session will discover ways to mitigate exposure to furture large claims and premium increases and how to implement new risk management strategies to minimize insurance expenses. Mike Reier, ABR Benovate, will moderate a panel that includes Bill Ashley, Allied National Insurance; Lisa Bodine, Giant Voices; Randy Johnson, ABR Benovate; and Jake Velie, National Integrative Health.
Thriving in the Age of Distraction – Curt Steinhorst will share insights that can help anyone rise above the noise and focus on strategies that help block it out. As a communicatons consultant, he has helped an array of companies and public figures — from preparing Johnny Manziel for his Heisman trophy acceptance speech (described by ESPN as “the greatest in history”) to advising the largest country-music record label on its marketing to digital consumers.
Preventing and Protecting Against OSHA’s Top 10 Workplace Accidents –Tim Conlon and William (Billy) Smith of NBIS, SC&RA’s exclusively endorsed construction and transport insurance provider, will go over the preliminary list of the most common workplace accidents in 2015 and examine how much of the list is releavant to jobsite activities at SC&RA member companies and how companies can implement strategies now to defend against the most common accidents.
Made in America – John Ratzenberger, best known for his Emmy nominated role as mail carrier Cliff Clavin on the long-running NBC sitcom “Cheers,” more recently has produced and starred in 97 episodes of the influential “Made in America” series on the Travel Channel. During this session, he will share his passion for American industry and discuss the need for more trained, skilled labor throughout the nation.
Stress Programs that Change the Game! – Tim Gard, who has been selected by Meeting Planners Magazine as one of the “Best speakers ever seen or heard on the main stage,” will share the secrets to applying
easy-to-understand, hard-to-forget concepts to help manage stress and influence the playing experience in the games of business and life for everyone in a multitude of tangible and valuable ways.
Until March 11, early-bird registration fees are available at $710 for members, $380 for their spouse/guest; $380 for children over 18, and $305 for other children. Nonmember early-bird registration fees are available for $1,065 per registrant, $570 for their spouse/guest or children over 18, and $460 for other children. After that date and until April 8, all registration fees increase by at least $80 per registration, depending on registrant status. After April 8, registration will be considered on-site, and additional fees will apply. Fees include receptions, a buffet lunch, continental breakfasts, and refreshment breaks.

The Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) is an international trade association of more than 1,300 members from 47 nations.
