Scotload Introduces SmartLoad 2Ex®

Scotload, part of James Fisher and Sons plc, announces the launch of its new, hazardous area SmartLoad 2Ex® product range – ATEX and IECEx certified version of its intelligent load monitoring system.

These simple, plug and play products eliminate cables which have been used in traditional zone 2 load monitoring systems, making these challenging work areas safer as well as significantly reducing costs and downtime associated with cable damage.

Recognising the increasing demand for wireless load monitoring products for use in hazardous areas, Scotload has incorporated its innovative and award-winning SmartLoad® technology into a range of wireless hazardous area products.

Describing market response since the launch, Jonathan Harris, business development manager at Scotload explained; “Our customers’ reaction to SmartLoad® last year proved to us that there was clear demand for this wireless, intelligent system. We have now been able to extend this into zone 2 areas to give our customers operating in hazardous areas all the benefits of SmartLoad® technology too.”

SmartLoad 2Ex® uses the latest wireless technology giving it significantly increased range, and importantly signal reliability in offshore environments where there is a high density of steel equipment and structures.

Scotload are world leaders in hazardous area load monitoring technology and have extensive experience working with customers in demanding environments to provide bespoke as well as standard solutions. The company also has significant expertise with international hazardous area standards and has developed solutions that have been certified by UL, Kosha and CSA.

“We have been assisting customers with hazardous area certified products and solutions for many years and we are now developing wireless SmartLoad® to be available in a range of zone 1 products as well, enabling us to help eliminate more cables from customer’s critical work areas. This further development will be an exciting addition to our already extensive range of existing hazardous area products and solutions.” concludes Harris.
