Samson, the worldwide leader in performance rope, announces the appointment of Joe Mazzacano as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, effective January 1, 2013. In his new role, Mazzacano will leverage his strong knowledge of Samson’s strategy, markets, products, and customers to help foster company growth.
Mazzacano has been with Samson for 14 years as Vice President of Finance; a role that has included responsibility for Samson’s marketing department. As a member of the executive team, Mazzacano has been instrumental in successfully developing and executing the strategy of becoming the world-wide leader in high performance synthetic rope. Samson has experienced rapid growth and Mazzacano’s knowledge of Samson’s worldwide distribution network, end users, and market trends provide a solid foundation for this new role. Coupled with his understanding of the operations side of the business and strong leadership skills, Mazzacano is positioned to lead Samson’s growth over the coming years.
“I am excited to have filled this key position for Samson,” said Tony Bon, President. “Joe’s depth of experience in marketing and finance combined with his strong knowledge and leadership as a long-time member of our executive team will enable him to lead the organization in achieving its next phase of growth and business development. He has extensive experience working with our sales team and customers, and his direct responsibility over our marketing team has provided him with the foundation to ensure a successful transition to his new role.”
Mazzacano will have responsibility for Samson’s sales team that includes support locations throughout the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Australia.
In addition, Samson announces a major expansion of their Ferndale, Washington manufacturing facility and corporate offices. The new space significantly expands the facilities of the Research and Development department while providing additional lab and manufacturing space.
Long committed to maintaining the most advanced Research and Development organization in the industry, the expansion provides a central R&D Center housing the entire department for better group collaboration, more streamlined testing and enhanced interaction with production. A new training room with the capacity to house large groups is included in the expansion plan.
The additional manufacturing space allows for more efficient warehouse layout for quick and accurate order fulfillment, better forklift traffic patterns and enhanced facilities for production personnel.
The expansion is projected to be complete by the end of 2013.
