Rope and Sling Specialists Ltd. (RSS) has taken delivery of the first shipment of JD Neuhaus’s (JDN) new range of Mini Next Gen air hoists, which it will distribute to the UK market. RSS received the full range of equipment at its Grangemouth, Scotland facility on 2 September.
RSS, a supplier of lifting and rigging equipment, announced in June that it had secured a partnership with JDN UK, which offers pneumatic and hydraulic hoists, crane systems, and components, manufactured at headquarters in Germany, for use in extreme environments.
Steve Hutin, managing director at RSS, said: “A product only starts to feel part of our tapestry once it is here in stock. On-boarding such a range takes commitment and preparation; it feels a long time ago now that I first discussed the prospect of distribution with Steve Walker [managing director at JDN UK Ltd.]. Now it has been delivered we can set to the task with greater vigour. That said, we have already quoted on five-figures-worth of orders, which will be followed up even as the hoists settle on our shelves.”
The new Mini air hoist range is explosion-protected and available in capacities of 125kg, 250kg, 500kg and 980kg. Other standout features include a near field communication (NFC) sensor with accompanying app, via which the user can access operating instructions and certificates quickly and conveniently. Sensitive control and limit switches are among other enhancements Hutin was keen to highlight.
The first shipment includes hoists in each of the capacity ranges but RSS will monitor stock levels in line with demand. The company, with six UK facilities, will also offer additional JDN products, including trolleys and the existing Profi air hoist range, available in capacities from 250kg up to 100t and air pressure in four or six bar. The explosion-protected series is suited to heavy-duty industrial use and is available with various control options depending on the application.
Hutin added: “First and foremost, we’ll take an opportunity to remind the market of the standout benefits of the Mini Next Gen range, including the fact that maintenance work, such as lubricating the motor chamber, exchanging the chain guide, and exchanging the motor unit can be carried out on the hook without dismounting the hoist—saving time and enhancing safety. Longer lifetime, higher speed, and enhanced control are among other features noted by industry.”
As reported, RSS will be solely responsible for quoting on the Profi and Mini ranges via leads generated by its own endeavours and enquiries forwarded by JDN UK.
