Rotator Products Buys Flow in Motion; Warriner Joins Foley Material Handling

Rotator Products Ltd, a Canada-based distributor of mechanical and electro-mechanical drive systems, has acquired Fort Worth, Texas-based crane component specialist Flow in Motion LLC, following the sale of all outstanding shares.

Founded in 2012, Flow in Motion provides a range of components from industry leading manufacturers, including operator seats and cabs from Merford Cabins; high quality motors; severe duty air conditioners for severe environments; trolley hoists; and end trucks, the majority of which are custom solutions.

Flow In Motion President Richard Warriner and Ajay Bajaj, the President of Rotator Products, made the joint announcement following completion of the transaction, the details and value of which will not be disclosed.

Warriner said, “We are pleased our efforts to advance acceptance of Merford ergonomic cabs, operator seats and other crane-related products will continue. A long-standing reputation as a major stocking distributor of crane controls, advanced design crane load limiting systems, polyurethane bumpers, motors couplings, engineered solutions and related products makes Rotator Products the perfect successor.”

Bajaj said, “The acquisition of Flow In Motion fits nicely with our company philosophy and long-term strategic plan. Combining the sales of both companies will provide great benefit to all of our customers.”

Warriner sold the company to allow him to join the management team of Foley Material Handling (Virginia Crane). His responsibilities will be primarily “business and strategic development,” he said.

Under Warriner’s leadership, Flow in Motion has received extensive trade media coverage following his presentations at the recent Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) Crane Symposium and landmark installations of components for notable steel, woodyard and port applications, to name just a few.

Warriner, who has a long association with Foley Material Handling as employee and independent representative, said, “Virginia Crane is one of the elite providers of AC and DC powered bridge cranes in true compliance with AIST Technical Report No. 6.”

The AIST Cranes Technology Committee met prior to the 22nd annual crane symposium to discuss the revision of Technical Report No. 6, which is titled ‘Specification for Electric Overhead Traveling Cranes for Steel Mill Service’.

Virginia Crane has steadily gained market share of custom engineered overhead and gantry cranes applied in railway, steel production, ship-building, paper manufacturing and similar highly demanding industries where reliability of equipment is integral to safe lifting operations and continued productivity.

Foley CEO Dale Foley said, “Rich’s talents are a welcome asset to our management team.”
