Redaelli – the Italian Company global leader in the design and production of wire ropes and systems for the engineering of tension structures has taken part in the construction of three new stadiums in Brazil, which will host the 2014 Fifa World Cup: the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, theEstádio Beira-Rio at Porto Alegre and the Estàdio Nacional Manè Garrincha in Brasilia, the country’s capital.
For the Estàdio Nacional Manè Garrincha in Brasilia, a 70.000-seat facility that will be the scene of some of the key matches of the world cup, Redaelli has purposely designed and manufactured the complete cable systems, whose full locked coil of different diameters till to the extent of 100 mm and for a total length of 9100 meters weave the suspension roof of the arena. In addition, Redaelli provided the cables and sockets for a total length of 9600 metres and diameters up to 95 mm. for the complete cable system of the suspension roof of the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, where its high experience team has even attended on site some installing operations like the lay down and start-up of big lift.
At Porto Alegre, for the Estádio Beira-Rio the Redaelli wire ropes spiral strands with a total length of over 4500 meters went to form the cable system for the membrane covering of the arena. The participation in the construction of the three new Brazilian stadiums represents one more great achievement of Redaelli, whose name is already associated to some of the most innovative projects in the world.
