Swiss Hoist Manufacturer GIS Launches New Website

Posted on February 2, 2016

Swiss electric chain hoist manufacturer GIS AG has launched a new multilingual website at GIS-AG.ch.

The new website is already available in German and English languages but existing and potential end users, global distributors and other partners will soon be able to access it in French. GIS-AG.ch will contain public information as well as a protected customer area.

Erich Widmer, sales and marketing manager, said: “The new site will serve as a vehicle to deliver our portfolio of products and supporting material to industry. In addition to new brochures for the GISKB and slewing jib crane systems, we have also tailored fresh, informative content and services for international distributors in particular—an important audience for the new site.”

The launch of the site follows the unveiling of a new logo in 2013, underscored with the claim ‘Swiss Lifting Solutions’. Widmer highlighted that the website provides greater leverage to promote an ethos surrounded by what he called, “complete solutions of application”.

He said: “We are a specialist manufacturer, well-renowned for providing a quality, efficient, high-end product; we promote a complete lifting solution, not the price of our products. Integral to the design of the new website is large, clear application images that end users can apply to their own applications and diverse work environments. Downloadable information further demonstrates our ability to provide versatile, tailored, complete lifting solutions.”

The website presents GIS AG as a manufacturer of electric chain hoists and other lifting solutions suited to demanding, heavy duty applications. Widmer stressed the importance of continued lifting operations even in the most heavy-duty environments, depicted on the website by images of GIS hoists at work in varied applications.

One such iconic application features GIS electric chain hoists in operation beneath revolving aerial cable car cabins in Switzerland, where they handle under-load transportation of goods for a mountain community.

GIS-AG.ch is designed to be compatible with smart phones, iPads and other modern, mobile technologies. Putting captivating images and graphics in the hands of salesmen and GIS partners visiting workplaces and sites is key to promoting the new online image of the company, Widmer said.

He will lead production of informative, educational content marketing materials that will be posted to the site, elsewhere online and circulated to trade media to drive traffic to the manufacturer’s engaged, online community.
