Air skates move heavy loads on a thin cushion of air and are available in sets of either four or six. Since air skates lower the coefficient of friction near 1%, one person can typically move 5,000 lbs. on a smooth and flat floor. The air skate system utilizes a manifold that individually controls the air flow to each specially designed air skid, helping the load travel slowly and evenly.

Air skates systems can also achieve 360 degrees of rotation versus machine skate applications. Air skate systems are available for rent in capacities ranging from 15,000 up to 540,000 pounds.
