LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) is hosting another of its popular ‘Lifting the Load – Out on the Road’ Roadshows at the Hilton Hotel in Bristol in the UK, on Tuesday March 18th. Offering expert presentations on the safe and legal use of overhead lifting equipment, as well as an introduction to the work of LEEA and its members, admission to the event is free-of-charge for visitors who register in advance.
Topics covered by the presentations include an overview of the documentation that should accompany lifting equipment in the UK, which is a common cause of concern and misunderstanding among end users and suppliers alike. LEEA’s technical officers will also be highlighting the key implications of revisions currently being made to BS7121, the Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Cranes.
The ‘Lifting the Load – Out on the Road’ Roadshow takes place at the Hilton Hotel, Woodlands Lane, Bradley Stoke, Bristol BS32 4JF. Doors open at 10am and the presentations run from 11am to 12.30pm, followed by a buffet lunch and the opportunity to network with LEEA’s technical officers and member companies from the local area. About LEEA
Established in 1944, LEEA has over 740 member companies worldwide and campaigns vigorously for higher standards of safety and professionalism within the overhead lifting industry. Key services provided include training, accreditation and expert technical advice. Member companies are involved in the design, manufacture, hire, repair, refurbishment, test, examination, verification and use of lifting equipment. Applicants are subject to an initial technical audit before full membership is granted, and then to a continuing programme of assessments. For large scale users of overhead lifting equipment, associate membership provides benefits such as access to technical information and training, without the need for auditing.
