ICUEE 2011: The Place for expert-led Industry Education

The latest trends in energy policy and industry safety initiatives are the focus of ICUEE 2011′s keynote education sessions, open to all show attendees. The keynote sessions are a first for ICUEE, designed to bring utility and construction professionals up to speed on industry-wide issues that may affect how companies operate in the future.

ICUEE, the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition, will be held October 4-6, 2011 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky, with more than one million net square feet of the latest innovations and technology in equipment, products and services; hands-on working-equipment demonstrations; and in-depth industry education programs.
Education on industry trends, techniques to boost performance

The show’s opening keynote is “Energy Policy – Outlook for the Industry” and focuses on direction of potential energy legislation and the regulatory impact it may have for those managing and building our national utility infrastructure. Presenter is Paul W. Thompson, Senior Vice President, Energy Services of LG&E and KU Energy, who has nearly 20 years of experience in the electric and natural gas utility industry and also worked in the oil and gas industry. When: Tuesday, October 4 from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

The second keynote, “Hooked-On Safety – Leading Safety Initiatives,” is a fast-paced, highly motivational presentation designed to focus on behavioral-based safety that will change not just attitudes but how people think about safety. Presenter is Billy Robbins of Jubilee Enterprises, who lost both hands in a 100-percent preventable industrial accident and then went on to become a passionate advocate for accident prevention, with messages delivered in a humorous but direct approach. When: Thursday, October 6 from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

ICUEE has also expanded the scope of its fleet management sessions, with a track from AEMP – Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP). Two fleet-related courses are among the “top 5″ sessions to date by attendance.

In addition to the AEMP track and a variety of industry topics selected by the ICUEE 2011 Education Committee, show attendees also have access to below-ground sessions from UCT – Underground Construction Technology, safety education from iP – Incident Prevention and water and wastewater education as part of the H2O-XPO and National Rural Water Association.

“We have a broader scope of education options than ever before; attendees get convenient and cost-effective access to the information they need to run a successful business,” stated Melissa Magestro, ICUEE show director.
