(Marketwire) — Harrington Hoists Inc. is a company founded on innovation with the development of The Worm Gear technology by Edwin Harrington back in the 1800s. This historical manufacturing entity has had a Norman Rockwell image, and yet it has evolved from a local niche player in the hoist industry to exploding sales on the international theater of industrial lifting solutions with their parent company Kito Corporation.
VP of Sales and marketing at Harrington Hoists Carlo Lonardi made a recent appearance on the Industry Visions industrial news program hosted by Allyn Mark. Lonardi, who has spent the past 13 years of his life devoted to the growth of Harrington Hoists, was asked what caused their ascent to success; Lonardi replied, “I guess the bottom line for everybody at Harrington Hoist is we really like hoists! No kidding, we really do!”
Lonardi continued, “It’s the contact with our customers that keeps us in tune to what the needs of the end user are and what’s more, our engineering team continues to design a product that continues to serve them better. We’re available to them, they need something, we tell them to call; they can call me right now if they want to.”
“We have that bleed orange mentality; we give it our all. What about innovation? Look at our new NER series; the smart brake technology never needs adjustment or spare parts. Our count hour meter, it’s like the odometer in your car, lets you know when the hoist needs basic service. We’re UL listed; that proves by an independent laboratory we are what we claim to be and even our new ROHS green compliance in manufacturing certification of green. The list goes on and will continue to as long as Harrington is in business.”
Lonardi accepted the Industry visions award presented to Harrington Hoists for innovative manufacturer of the year 2009.
