The LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) is offering pre-registered visitors to LiftEx 2011 a complementary copy of its new guide to buying overhead lifting equipment. LiftEx 2011 is taking place at Saviles Hall in Leeds on November 17th and 18th and the buyer’s guide CD will be available for collection at the show for anyone that registers free-of-charge at www.liftex.org by Monday October 17th.
Now in its seventh year, LiftEx is the UK’s only trade show dedicated to overhead lifting. Over 50 exhibitors are expected to take part, highlighting products and services designed to improve the safety and efficiency of overhead lifting and working at height. The main sponsor this year is Servtech, providers of inspection, rigging and lifting services to the oil and gas industry.
Based on over sixty years experience, the LEEA’s Buyers Guide to Overhead Lifting Equipment CD provides expert, impartial advice on the most appropriate products for a wide range of applications. All the main equipment groups are covered, including overhead travelling cranes, slewing jibs, powered and manual lifting machines, slings and load lifting attachments. The key features and benefits of different products are highlighted, along with any limitations, helping buyers secure the best possible return on investment.
Established in 1944, the LEEA has over 480 member companies worldwide and campaigns vigorously for higher standards of safety within the lifting industry. In addition to providing members with training and expert technical advice, the association works closely with organisations such as the Health and Safety Executive in the preparation of regulations and British, European and International standards. Member companies include those involved in the design, manufacture, hire, repair, refurbishment, test, examination, verification and use of lifting equipment. Applicants are subject to an initial technical audit before full membership is granted, and then to a continuing programme of assessments. For large scale users of overhead lifting equipment, associate membership provides benefits such as access to technical information and training, without the need for auditing.
