Fairmont Supply Company, a national full line distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and operating supplies and a wholly owned subsidiary of CONSOL Energy Inc. announces senior management changes.
Richard L. Layton, President has elected to retire after 32 years of service with the company. Van Compagni Vice President of Sales & Marketing, will succeed Layton as President, effective June 1, 2011.
Layton became President of Fairmont Supply Company in April 2003, when Fairmont operated eleven (11) warehouses in seven (7) states.
Under Layton’s direction, Fairmont implemented a diversified business strategy through external and internal expansions into key strategic markets and today, operates with thirty four (34) locations in fourteen (14) states.
Layton joined Fairmont Supply Company in June 1979 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where he served mining and steel mill accounts. In 1987, Layton moved to Wilmington, Delaware, as Branch Manager. In 1990 he became Manager of Northeast Operations in Wilmington, serving chemical and integrated supply accounts. He returned to Pennsylvania in February 1998 as Vice President of Operations.
Compagni joined Fairmont Supply Company in January 1980 in Price, Utah. Van held positions of General Manager and Manager – Mountain States Operations with H&J Supply Company, General Manager – Western Operations, Vice President – Operations and was promoted to Vice President , Sales & Marketing in October 2006.
