Dewey Snavely Joins JK Technology Services as Director of Operations for Craning and Rigging

JK Technology Services
Industry Veteran Helps Guide Growing Business Segment

JK Technology Services (JKTS) has named Dewey Snavely as Director of Operations, Risk Management & Training for the growing company’s rigging and craning work.  JKTS offers specialized support at multiple levels including storage, final mile logistics, craning and rigging services in the Northern Virginia market and beyond.

“We are excited to have Dewey join the JK Technology Services’ team and help build the operational foundation for JK’s crane and rigging business. His expertise is imperative as we expand to meet the market needs for specialized services in the data center and IT space.  Our investments in top talent like Dewey are positioning JKTS to be best in class,” explained David Cox, president, JK Moving Services, nation’s largest independently owned moving and storage company and parent company of JKTS.

In this new role, Snavely is responsible for building, executing, and continuously improving the operational foundation of JKTS’s craning, rigging, and specialized warehousing services. This includes developing standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and workforce development programs. Snavely has more than 30 years of experience in rigging and craning, most recently with A & A Transfer as its Vice President of Field Operations. In prior positions, he served as heavy equipment and rigging specialist for the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Team and launched M.C. Dean’s crane and rigging capabilities as equipment safety manager. In all these roles, he used and honed skills he learned while serving in the Army as part of the DoD’s only Technical Rescue Engineer unit.

JKTS has grown triple digits this year as it meets the rapidly growing demands of public and private enterprises’ IT and data center moving-related needs. JKTS is headquartered in Northern Virginia, which is home to more than 12 million square feet of commissioned data center space, handling an estimated 70% of the world’s internet traffic. To best serve this market, the firm made significant infrastructure investments with the goal of becoming a single source for complex, end-to-end data center support and IT relocation projects.

Snavely’s appointment is part of the company’s growth. Other recent additions include John Novak, vice president, sales, who has 15 years of data center services experience in a wide range of functions; Mike Lozupone, vice president, Business Development/Technology Services, who came from DataBridge Sites; and Adam Nelson, account executive, with a background in moving and rigging.
