Commercial Group Lifting Products, headquartered in Taylor, MI, has successfully acquired F.D. Lake Co., located in Grand Rapids, MI. F.D. Lake, a full-service fabricator of rigging and lifting products, boasts a diverse customer base across Western and Northern Michigan. Founded in 1948 by the Lake family, the company was sold to the Carlsen family in 1971, who continued to operate it until this acquisition.
This acquisition strengthens Commercial Group’s position as the premier supplier of rigging and lifting products to industries such as automotive, steel, construction, and utilities, both in Michigan and beyond. Moving forward, the F.D. Lake brand will remain a key part of the Grand Rapids market, as Commercial Group intends to maintain the company’s established name.
Mike Posey, F.D. Lake’s President for the past 35 years, will continue to lead the Grand Rapids branch and will join the management team at Commercial Group.
