Commercial Group Lifting Products headquartered in Taylor, MI has completed its acquisition of Blacco Rigging & Supply located in Columbus, OH. Blacco, founded by the Black family in 1956, is a full service fabricator of rigging and lifting products known for its innovative splicing techniques and diverse customer base.
The acquisition of Blacco will allow Commercial Group to continue expanding its geographic reach throughout the
Midwest. The integration of the companies, which will take place over the next several months, is expected to produce greater efficiencies, enhanced quality and increased opportunity for growth with both new and existing customer
bases. Management intends to leverage the brand recognition of the company by continuing to operate under the Blacco name in the Columbus market.
Sean Green, Blacco’s Vice President for the past eight years, will remain in that role and will join Commercial Group’s management team. “Both Commercial and Blacco were started by Navy veterans and have been successfully run as family owned and operated businesses for decades,” says Commercial Group President Gar Knight. “Our cultures and values are closely aligned and we look forward to creating real synergies with this merger.”
Commercial Group, founded in 1951, is a privately held rigging and lifting company with facilities in Taylor MI (Detroit), Gary IN (Chicago), Cleveland OH, Cincinnati OH and Columbus OH.
