If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that safety is a community effort. Columbus McKinnon has launched a new safety value as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, and found an interesting pathway to engage its worldwide employees and their families while benefitting a related cause.
In their introduction to the safety value, the company notes that “we connect Safety to all that we do! From our people, to our products and the communities we live and work, safety is that lynchpin that keeps us moving forward.”
The statement continues: “Columbus McKinnon has a long history of success, and we would not be where we are today without the hard work and dedication of all our employees. We feel it is critical to ensure our most valuable assets, our people, have a safe environment to work in every day.”
Bringing Safety to Life
To highlight the community aspect of safety, the company asked the children and grandchildren of their global associates to submit drawings on the theme of “Safety at Work, Home or Play.” The contest received submissions from children across the globe including Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, China, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
Their global associates then voted on their favorites in three age ranges, with the winners and honorable mentions featured in the calendar.
The calendar is available for sale on Columbus McKinnon’s Training website at this link.
Proceeds from sale of the calendar benefit Kids’ Chance. Kids’ Chance of America establishes and supports programs that provide educational opportunities and scholarships for the children of workers seriously or fatally injured on the job. Learn more at this link.
