HOUSTON — CERTFID has made its advanced asset management platform available to the public, bringing digital asset identity and conversational artificial intelligence to the lifting, rigging, construction, transportation, offshore and industrial sectors.
Following more than a year of development, refinement and invitation-only testing with industry partners, CERTFID provides companies with a simpler way to manage equipment throughout its working life.
Jorge Andres Guevara, president of Liftgear International, Inc. and founder of CERTFID, began the project with a straightforward question:
“What if a simple tap could give you access not only to an asset’s digital certifications, but also its inspections, safety information, documents and history—right when and where that information is needed?”
CERTFID connects each physical asset to a unique digital record using NFC technology. Anyone with an NFC enabled mobile device can tap the equipment to access its permitted information directly through a web browser. No app or specialized reader is required for field access.
The platform can connect certifications, inspections, pre-use checks, documents, location information and ownership history to one asset record. When equipment is rented, transferred or moved between jobsites, its history can remain connected to the asset.
Your Equipment, Their Voice
Powered by Fiddle AI, CERTFID allows users to communicate with their equipment through a natural conversation. Instead of searching through dashboards, spreadsheets or individual documents, a user in the field can ask:
“When was this sling last inspected?”
Fiddle can respond with a direct answer based on the asset’s available records and provide references to the supporting information.
Fiddle can also assist with supported asset-management tasks and answer broader questions across an authorized asset portfolio. For example, asking, “Which assets are due for inspection this week?” can produce an actionable list based on the organization’s records.
Behind those records is Maple, CERTFID’s integrity verification engine, designed to strengthen confidence in the information connected to each asset.
Guevara and his team demonstrated Fiddle earlier this year during the 2026 Associated Wire Rope Fabricators P.I.E. & Technical Summit, held April 20–23 in Houston.
“When we demonstrated Fiddle at AWRF, people immediately began thinking about the questions they would ask their own equipment,” Guevara said. “They understood that instead of learning how to navigate another complicated software system, someone in the field could simply ask the asset a question and receive an answer supported by its records. That reaction showed us how useful conversational asset management can be.”
