Bridon International Ltd., a world-leading specialist in the manufacture of wire and rope solutions, recently launched Tiger 24LS Hoist Rope and Tiger 34M SPI for the Underground Mining industry.
The Tiger 24LS Hoist Rope, made for heavy-duty services and high safety on drum hoists, is engineered to provide the “lowest cost per tonnes hoisted.” The Linear contact between wires in inner and outer strands not only reduce internal nicking but also minimize torque values due to increased parallel laid core area vs. increased number of outer strands. The Tiger 24 LS can be used on rope-guided shafts; offers high fatigue performance on friction winders as well as high flexibility and reduced internal fretting.
The Tiger 34M SPI also made for the Underground Mining industry, takes advantage of full plastic impregnation and sheathing to offer high levels of durability in service, superior abrasion resistance, superior cracking resistance, high impact toughness at low and elevated temperatures with excellent resistance to aqueous environments. Not only does the Tiger 34M SPI offer easy maintenance, reduced downtime and improved productivity but the full plastic impregnation keeps the outer surface clean and free of external lubrication, improving the overall safety and control of the rope.
Bridon continues to develop new products. Increasing wire rope service life and offering operational improvements adding value to their range of products. By taking advantage of enhanced material properties resulting from the efficient processing of wire, or enhanced rope properties through new and improved designs and tooling, Bridon is able to realize the potential for new manufacturing processes for improved performance.
