BP has made progress using robot submarines in its most recent attempt to siphon oil from a leaking Gulf of Mexico well. The company faced an obstacle Wednesday when a diamond-tipped saw got stuck in the pipe from which oil is spewing into the Gulf. But the saw was released after several hours of maneuvering by the robot submarines, a source said.
