Bids to replace wire rope and load testing for John Day Dam due today

1377639418160The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to replace wire rope and perform load testing for an emergency intake crane at 2,160-MW John Day Dam on the Columbia River in Oregon. Bids are due Sept. 6.

The Corps’ Portland District took bids in August to modify fish passage at John Day to aid Pacific lamprey. It awarded a contract in 2012 to Skyward Construction to refurbish elevators and took bids in 2011 for turbine blade refurbishment at the project.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps now seeks bids to remove old wire rope and supply and install new wire rope and perform load testing for an emergency intake crane at John Day.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W9127N13R0044 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids are due Sept. 6. For information, contact Jean Paul Bretz, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, Contracting Division (CECT-NWP), P.O. Box 2946, Portland, OR 97208-2946; (1) 503-808-4632; Fax: (1) 503-808-4605; E-mail: jean.p.bretz@usace.army.mil.
