Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE:BHI) announced today that the international rig count for August 2010 was 1,102, down 7 from the 1,109 counted in July 2010, and up 155 from the 947 counted in August 2009. The international offshore rig count for August 2010 was 307, down 4 from the 311 counted in July 2010 and up 47 from the 260 counted in August 2009.
The US rig count for August 2010 was 1,638 up 65 from the 1,573 counted in July 2010 and up 658 from the 980 counted in August 2009. The Canadian rig count for August 2010 was 387, up 37 from the 350 counted in July 2010 and up 209 from the 178 counted in August 2009.
The worldwide rig count for August 2010 was 3,127, up 95 from the 3,032 counted in July 2010 and up 1,022 from the 2,105 counted in August 2009.
