The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has elected Steven Berglund, President and CEO of Trimble Navigation Ltd., to the AEM Board of Directors, to fill an unexpired term. 

AEM is the North American-based international trade group representing off-road equipment manufacturers and suppliers. 

AEM officers and directors work on behalf of all member companies. These industry leaders give their time and talent to provide strategic direction and guidance for Association action in areas including public policy, market data and exhibitions, as well as technical, safety and regulatory issues, global business development, and education/training.

“At AEM, we benefit from the support of our member companies and the leadership talents of our Board members, who are selected to reflect an industry cross-section,” stated AEM President Dennis Slater. 

“Their dedication helps ensure Association programs continue to meet member and industry needs, and Steve is part of that proud tradition; we are delighted to welcome him in his new role,” Slater said.

AEM membership comprises more than 850 companies and more than 200 product lines, and the Association is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with offices in the world capitals of Washington, D.C.; Ottawa, Canada; and Beijing, China.

Berglund also serves on the CE Sector Board. He has served as Trimble president and chief executive officer since 1999. Previously he was president of Spectra Precision, a group within Spectra Physics AB. His business experience includes a variety of senior leadership positions with Spectra Physics, manufacturing and planning roles at Varian Associates, and began his career as a process engineer at Eastman Kodak.
